Be sure to stop by the taproom atPetoskey Brewing Company, housed in a brewery originally built in 1898.

It’s also a popular place for Chicagoans to cycle, run, or Rollerblade along the paved path.

It also has a restaurant, ice cream cafe, and restrooms.

Smoking, drinking, and pets are not allowed on the beach.

The park offers beaches on both lakes.

There are also ponds, dunes, marshland, forest, and the historic Big Sable Point Lighthouse.

Beach, Petoskey State Park, Michigan

Nearby, Buttersville Park is a dog-friendly beach with campgrounds.

This 35-mile-long stretch of Lake Michigan’s eastern shoreline boasts the largest freshwater dune system in the world.

Beach fires are permitted only on mainland Lake Michigan beaches between the water’s edge and the first dune.
