Just keep in mind that conditions vary by region, The weather is always cooler in the mountains.

When crowds are smaller, the prices tend to be lower, too.

During any given year, the specifics depend on snowfall, elevation, and snowmaking.

That said, arguably the best months to ski in Colorado are January and February.

Microspikes for snow-covered trails in May and June, and layers for potential flurries in late autumn.

In general, though, fall colors reach their peak between mid-September and mid-October.

Then travel up or down in elevation to find more dazzling displays in progress.

The seasons that may not work for you depend on your preferences.

For the budget-conscious or crowd-averse traveler, the winter and summer high seasons aren’t ideal.

While they offer the best conditions for seasonal sports, these peak times are pricey and busy.

There are also the obvious weather considerations.

Put otherwise: Every pursuit and place comes with peak and off-peak seasons.

But taken as a whole, Colorado is a great getaway no matter when you go.
